CA Intermediate result Sept 2026: how to check the ICAI scorecard at caresults.icai.org with roll number and registration number, download steps

The CA Intermediate result for the September 2026 session is expected on Thursday, 22 October 2026. ICAI announced on 14 October 2026 that the result of the Intermediate examination held in September 2026 is likely to be declared by the evening of 22 October, and candidates can check it free of cost at caresults.icai.org, the official ICAI results portal, with their roll number and registration number. This guide lists the official links, the exact steps to check your scorecard, what to keep ready, and what to do after the result is out.

Table of Contents

ICAI publishes the Intermediate result only on its official results portal. Use only the links below, and ignore result links forwarded on social media or messaging groups, because fake pages circulate on every result day.

  • Result portal: caresults.icai.org (the portal opens the ICAI results page; the Intermediate September 2026 result link appears on its home page once ICAI declares the result)
  • ICAI main website: icai.org (the announcements section carries the official result notice)

ICAI’s announcement dated 14 October 2026, signed by the Additional Secretary (Examinations), confirms the expected date: the September 2026 Intermediate result is likely to be declared by the evening of 22 October 2026, and candidates will need their registration number along with their roll number to access it. We reported the announcement in detail in our earlier post on the CA Inter result September 2026 date announcement.

Steps to Check Your CA Intermediate Result

Once the result link goes live on the portal, follow these six steps:

  1. Open caresults.icai.org in your browser.
  2. Click the Intermediate (September 2026) result link on the home page.
  3. Enter your six-digit roll number exactly as printed on your admit card.
  4. Enter your registration number. ICAI’s announcement for this session asks for the registration number along with the roll number; if the page offers a PIN field instead, enter the PIN you used for your examination application.
  5. Type the captcha text shown in the image, if the page asks for it.
  6. Click Submit. Your paper-wise marks and group result will appear on screen. Download the scorecard and print a copy for your records.

The online scorecard is meant for immediate reference and works for your next steps, such as course registration. ICAI issues the printed statement of marks separately, as explained in the FAQs below.

What to Keep Ready

The result portal gets heavy traffic in the first hour, and the page can load slowly or time out. Keep these ready before you start, so a slow page does not send you hunting for documents:

  • Admit card: your roll number is printed on it.
  • Registration number: the number from your Intermediate course registration, also visible on your Self Service Portal profile.
  • PIN: the PIN from your examination application, in case the result page asks for it.
  • A way to save the scorecard: a printer, or space on your phone or computer to save the PDF.

Writing the roll number and registration number on paper in advance is a small step that saves real time when the site is slow and thousands of candidates are refreshing at once.

After the CA Intermediate Result: What Next

If you cleared both groups: you become eligible to register for the CA Final course through ICAI’s Self Service Portal, subject to the conditions ICAI prescribes, and to complete the remaining practical training requirements of the course. Keep your scorecard and registration documents ready for the Final registration, and for articleship completion formalities if your training period is ending.

If you cleared one group: the group you passed stays passed. You only prepare for the remaining group in the next attempt, so plan your revision around the papers left.

If you did not clear this time: the next attempt comes in the following examination cycle, and exam forms are filed online through the Self Service Portal when ICAI opens the form window. Use this scorecard to find the papers where you lost marks, and build your next attempt around those gaps instead of starting everything from zero.

Verification and certified copies: after every result, ICAI opens applications for verification of answer books and for certified copies of evaluated answer books, for a limited window. If you believe your marks do not reflect your paper, apply online through ICAI’s exam services once the window opens, and watch the announcements on icai.org for it.

If the CA Intermediate Result Page Does Not Open

A slow or stuck result page on declaration day is normal. Work through these fixes before you worry:

  • Wait and retry: give it a few minutes between attempts instead of refreshing continuously; the first hour is the busiest.
  • Change the setup: try a different browser or device, or switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi.
  • Clear the cache: if an old page keeps loading, clear the browser cache or open the portal in a private window.
  • Check off-peak: the result stays available online, so a late-evening or next-morning check gives the same scorecard without the crowd.
  • Trust only the official word: before believing a screenshot or a forwarded message, confirm on caresults.icai.org or the announcements on icai.org that the result is actually out.
